Regardless of the fact that the members of every royal family grow up and live their lives in front of the public, there is always some detail and some secret that is later revealed.

The late Prince Rainier, before he met Grace Kelly and started a family with her, was enchanted by Marilyn Monroe. It was at a time when, shortly after the end of World War II, Rainier was well on his way to losing the crown due to financial difficulties and problems in tourism.

Prince Rainier decided that it would be best for everyone to marry a Hollywood "princess" and thus capitalise on the fame and fortune of that marriage. Monaco desperately needed to revive the branch of the economy from which they had the most income - tourism, so it was a logical sequence of events.

Marilyn Monroe, the ideal candidate for the Prince's wife, was high on the list of Hollywood A-list stars. But its status is a s*x symbol and an exaggerated sensuality which stood out in public were something that prevented her from, even if she wanted to, becoming a princess, so her name was soon removed from the list, shortly afterwards Rainier met his future wife, and love at first sight happened.

Rainier was really fascinated as soon as Grace stepped into the palace and, as they say, he immediately found a solution to all the problems. Grace Kelly made her fairy tale come true by marrying a prince in April 1956, after which she gave birth to three children - Princesses Carolyn and Stephanie as well as Prince Albert.

But all of that had a high price. Because of everything that happened to her in her personal life, Grace chose love at the expense of her career. She was only 26 when she married a prince and even paid two million dollars as a dowry to be able to become a princess.
