SERBIA HAS BEEN WAITING FOR THIS: Novak Djoković is returning! Let's go win that thophy!
Serbian tennis player Filip Krajinović revealed that the best tennis player in the world, Novak Djoković, will lead the national team at the upcoming Davis Cup.
For weeks, there has been talk about which tournaments the world's best tennis player will enter in the coming period, and Krajnović revealed that it is the Davis Cup.
Led by Djoković, they will go for the second silver salad bowl in the history of Serbia.
- I would like to use these three tournaments to improve my form as much as possible before the Davis Cup, where we will appear in the strongest lineup because we want to try to win the salad bowl just like in 2010. I want to be in the best shape before that tournament, first in Innsbruck, and then in Madrid in the semi-finals and finals. We are traveling led by Novak, and it is certain that we will not go there to lose. We agreed that we will all play and try to win the cup - said Filip Krajinović for Blic.
Krajinović also pointed out that the atmosphere in the national team is great.
- We will have mini preparations in Belgrade before the trip to Austria. We will train and be together for four or five days, which is good because it will strengthen the team spirit, and it is already known that we are good friends and that we like to be together. I am not sure when those mini preparations will start because it depends on who will play which tournament by the end of the year and when all of us will finally be in Serbia - Krajinović concluded.
The Davis Cup is scheduled to take place from 23 November to 5 December, and the chances of winning are higher due to the fact that the Spaniard Rafael Nadal, the German Alexander Zverev and the Austrian Dominic Thiem will not represent their country there.
