Anti-vaxxers break into the news studio

The protesters have been rallying for weeks outside of the national television headquarters, dissatisfied with everything related to the COVID-19 pandemic, as reported by Croatian Dnevnik.

Headed by Ladislav Trohe, who is the leader of the OPS movement and opposing all the measures introduced to limit the spread of the virus, the protesters have barged into the headquarters of the Slovenian National Broadcasting Company on Friday at around 8:30 PM. They were handing out flyers in which they demand ''safe schools and colleges without muzzles'', a term they use for protective face masks, an epidemiological measure which helps prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Journalist Barbara Vidmajer posted a video of the break-in on Twitter, while the members of the OPS movement were live-streaming the national television break-in on their Facebook profile.

They said that they came into their home which had been ''forcefully taken'' from them, thus referring to the national television. The cameramen appeared soon after that and they started recording everything, however, the protesters demanded a live stream of the entire event, whereby they would directly address the Slovenian public.
Slovenian police had to intervene.  They have reported that some of the protesters who barged into the national television building were the usual participants of a registered gathering, as stated on vecer.com.

- They did not listen to the orders given out by the guards which led to an intervention by the police officers who were there to maintain public order and security - police sources state.

Around 20 protesters have been evacuated from the building and they were not wearing protective face masks, RTV Slovenia has reported.  The perpetrators will be prosecuted in accordance with the law, police sources state.

The CEO of RTV Slovenia said that '' it was a serious assault against our company and national media in general, which we strongly condemn '' and added that they invested a lot of effort in improving the situation the following four months.

- The problems we are facing are significant. The legal situation is very complex, RTV owns the building itself, but does not own the land around it.  That is public property and unfortunately, the protesters had the permission to gather within that area.  The Management Team has done a lot.  Unfortunately, we were unable to have any concrete results due to the complexity of the situation.  To be fair, we have been warning the authorities of this the entire time.  Next week, I will be attending a meeting which was originally scheduled even before this unpleasant event.  I will use that opportunity to make an appeal to our authorities so that they can finally take action and do something about this - Andrej Grah Vatmug said.

We will immediately increase our company's security measures, so as to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.  Up until now, the protests were mostly peaceful, although disruptive, especially for the journalist working in TV Slovenia's new studio on the first floor.  I sincerely hope that the authorities will devote greater attention to this problem, especially after what happened today.  Luckily, no one was injured, Vatmug added.
